  2. I think it is hard for women to self car because they see so many others hurting and think that theirs is not as bad as someone else's

  3. #1) I want to take this class because I love the idea of the techniques being easy and portable. I need a way to relax no matter where I am!

  4. Women have a hard time with self care because we often put other people, things etc above ourselves, It can be hard to remember that taking care of us helps us take care of others. A brave girl class would help me get through this holiday season because it would give me tools to slow down and do something for ME!

  5. What is it about 'Soul Comfort' that makes me want to take this Brave Girl class? Simplicity. I have the total urge to simplify my life, I just don't know where to start. For some reason I am attached to everything. Everything! The BGC has a way of really getting me to see things, really see things, for what they are. I know this class will be amazing. All of their classes are <3

  6. Honestly I have had a rough couple of years of many things and I have really forgotten how to take care of me. Around the holidays it gets worse, as family usually calls a few days before saying we are coming to visit. This ends up sending me into a tail spin and who gets forgotten? Me, so I want to change that.

  7. To me the phrase "soul comfort" means taking care and honoring that little girl inside of us. I need to remind myself yourself that way down deep inside, I know what I need to do to be happy. Unfortunatley, family, work, and life commitments and obligations (which ends up being exhausting!) get in the way of that.

Thanks for this opportunity to win a spot!!!

  8. Soul Comfort - just the words make me want to sigh and lean into it. I struggle mightily with self care and believe that Soul Comfort would help ease that struggle.

  9. For women these days, we wear many “hats” and tend to focus on the well being of others close to us and leave very little left for ourselves, there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day for basic things, forget the luxuries! This online class sounds like the “something” I have definitely been looking for to get me motivated and jump start some positive and creative energy! I have been into art journaling for a few years and find the process to be so fun and therapeutic (It has been especially helpful in dealing with the chronic pain of Fibromyalgia!) I also believe this would be a great chance to share talents and learn from other fellow “brave girls” I have been a fan of how empowering this group is and would love to be a part of spreading the positivity and creativity! Thank you xo

  10. Women are always looking after everyone else – making sure they are happy, healthy and well. They overlook themselves to ensure everyone around them is doing ok. The holidays are always busy and hectic. This class would teach me to take a step back and take a deep breath. Thanks for the chance to enter

  11. When I think of soul comfort I think of being nurtured and cared for on a deep level. Taking a class that helps me focus on this for myself would be amazing!

  12. I love brave girls online classes. Melody & Kathy work so hard to change women's lives in an effective cut to the core way. The art projects concrete the topic into your being I want to take this class because I need peace relaxation and dr stressing. My own health issues along with having elderly aunt living with us added to daily life has been super stressful. I'm so focused on time to take medicines and other time obligations I feel chained to the clock or iPhone alarms. At times I feel like a pressure cooker with the jiggly thing on the top and ready to pop. A reminder to focus on other things would be very helpful. I like the lower key format for this class in the past BG classes is huge time commitment since I'm a slow artsy gal. Thanks for chance to win

  15. We as women have a difficult time with self care because we are naturally the nurturers. We take care of everyone else but ourselves and even feel guilty when taking time and doing something for ourselves. We end up finding ourselves lost, tired and depleted, unable to give our best to ourselves and those we love. So taking this course would help me in getting down to the “soul comfort” of nurturing my own soul. I’m hoping this course can bring a calmness and peace that is so desired in my life.

  16. When I hear the Soul Comfort, I feel like coming home... coming home to relax, enjoy and truly nurturing myself. These past few weeks have been extremely hard with some very difficult news on my dad's health. So need some soul comforting.... Thanks for the chance to win this ecourse!

  17. I think women struggle with self care and soul comfort because we tend to put our need behind everyone else's. we are natural care takers who sometimes believe taking care of ourselves is indulgent. This is why I'm excited for this class to learn to take snippets of between time for ourselves.

  18. I love the brave girls message. I love the idea that you can nurture your soul anywhere and would love to learn new techniques.

  19. What a wonderful sounding course!
Soul Comfort brings visions of quiet walks, sitting taking in nature, drinking tea and painting soft focus paintings (not sure why the soft focus paintings come into my head...) The premise of this class is very exciting to me!

  20. I think women struggle with self care because we are taught it is our job to care for others and don't seem to put ourselves on the list. I struggle with this every day, between doing for others and feeling that it is okay that I do something for myself. I hope this class will help me to give myself permission to do for myself...thank you for the chance to win a spot!!

  23. I love this time of the year - the weather is getting cooler (hopefully) and I like to get crafty. Making holiday crafts and gifts. I think this class would be great for me because it is portable so I could work on it while waiting on activities to be done (at the pool, at the rink ...) Everyone could use a little crafty time that works on themselves - their soul

  26. Soul Comfort = Wrapping your soul in a homemade quilt and snuggling into YOU. Taking moments to warm your spirit with tiny sparks that that are fanned into a roaring creative fire.

Brave Girls Club has given me permission to be me. Taught me that I am Brave, I am creative, I am powerful, I am love, I am ME!

  27. Sometimes I think we feel the need to comfort others when we actually need comforting ourselves. By taking care of others, we feel we earn the right to take care of ourselves, as if we need validation in order to feel good about doing for us. Soul comfort says to me, you need no one else but yourself to care for right now and there is nothing you need to do in order to sink in and relax with this moment. I think Melodie has figured out this way of caring for ourselves and being a part of this class is an exercise in remembering who we are and how to care for that extraordinary self. Good luck to everyone! Hope to meet you in the class! ~Hobby http://www.creativesouljuice.com ~ come by and say hello!

  28. When I hear the phrase 'Soul Comfort' I think of the hard work I did to heal the hole in my soul from losing my mother. Having done a great deal of work I can now say it is well in my soul. Now to heal the hole in my soul from never having a father, then it will be very well in my soul!

  29. When thinking about the soul comfort class I was thinking-" what actually is comfort" comfort = a state of physical ease and freedom from pain or constraint"
That pretty much describes our lives as women ------and to have that comfort with you right then---- instead of having to get dressed - go somewhere - be there on time -- make sure you have worked it into your schedule - possibly pay for it -- and then looking around the room and wondering what others might be thinking? is not a place of comfort --or freedom! To have it all right there at your fingertips is the place to find comfort--physical ease and with comfort comes peace - !

  30. I would love a spot in this class to heal my soul that has been sorely wounded due to lose of my husband and the onset of mental illness in my oldest daughter....

  31. "Soul Comfort" from Brave Girls interests me because it was recently brought to my attention that I've almost completely disconnected from myself. I'm looking for simple and powerful ways to reconnect with myself.

  32. I was raised to believe that a woman's place is to care for her family, and to tend the home. I was caught between generations that clung to that belief and the one that rebelled, following a path of "women's rights." I've had it all, choosing many jobs that satisfied me for the moment, but I still prefer to be a homemaker; I feel it is my calling, but there have been many times when I felt I had to put the needs of others ahead of what I desire for myself. Often I feel taken for granted and not appreciated for the unique individual I am. Taking Soul Restoration has forced me to reexamine areas of my life that still cause me pain. It has been an arduous process for me, but I have learned so much! NOW I feel ready for some soul comfort!

  37. Women are natural caregivers, always putting others first. If or when we think about caring for ourself there is usually no time or we are just too exhausted. With the holidays fast approaching, this class could help me to take a step back and do something nice for me.

  38. Soul Comfort to me is relaxing, finding inner peace, putting myself before others for once. How do we do this as wives and moms? I don't know, please tell me! Or better yet, please teach me.
Soul comfort is finding that peace within me to know that I don't need to hold on to the negative but let the positive be all that matters. When my soul is comforted I will be refreshed and renewed and the best person I can be.

  39. #1 - I am a military wife with two little boys and sometimes I think I need permission to simplify and to take time for me. Creative time is my favorite recharge/down time and I think this class would be a great way to stretch those me time muscles.

  41. What do I think of when I hear the words "Soul Comfort"? To me, one cannot be at peace until their outside says what their insides feel.
I think soul comfort is a way to soothe and heal your spirit or soul, so you can connect and find yourself.
I think it also means to no longer feel lonely inside.

  42. To me....soul comfort would be creating a spot of peace within that I can stop and visit as often as I need to adjust my frame of mind.

  43. As women with family, friends, work, social obligations, etc. we tend to short change ourselves of the very things we need in order to be our personal best. Our souls need tending and yet we are reticent to make the time, spend the funds or just unhook from those who depend on us in our daily lives. Brave Girls Camp and the Soul Comfort course give us the opportunity to make plans for nourishing what matters most without feelings of guilt or selfishness. To be in the company of like minds and hearts only reinforces and celebrates what is truly unique and beautiful in each woman's spirit, which in turn brings out the best in all of us... and what man, child, friend or family member would not support that?

  44. I would like to take the class soul comfort because the name itself just implies goodness and deliciousness. I really need this right now because I am at a crossroads in my life. I was at a trauma treatment centre for 12 weeks this summer due to ongoing and bet brutal childhood abuse. The transition home has been tough and I need to use every resource I can to make it through. I have a five year old and I know I can do this for him and for me and my husband. I just get so caught up in everyone else that often my recovery work comes last. I think this soul comfort course would help me continue with this skills I learned in the trauma treatment centre, learn some art therapy, be accountable, learn to listen to my inner voice of wisdom and care for it, and learn to put myself first without feeling guilty. Thank you so much for this opportunity! Autumne_horan@hotmail.com

  45. When I think of Soul Comfort, I think of that moment when I feel loved, protected, and at peace. Peace is seriously lacking right now. I would want to take this class to learn how to find a place of peace and rest among all the turmoil around me. Thank you for this opportunity to take this class. Winning this class would be the only way I could take it right now.

  46. My primary focus in life is to raise healthy, happy, strong and independent daughters. Over the past year, I have made a bit of progress in taking better care of myself and my daughters have noticed. One of the ways I have done this is by creating more often. It calms me and takes my mind off an incredibly stressful life situation our family is currently experiencing. Fall/Winder is very busy for our family - mixed in with the regular holidays are my wedding anniversary and both of my daughters' birthdays. This year will be especially difficult for us financially. I would like to take this class because I know I will need all the help I can get to make it through the final months of this year. Thank you for the opportunity to win a spot in the Soul Comfort class!!

  48. "soul comfort" sounds like the perfect thing for me right now. i'm living in a temporary place, & am not able to take out all of my delicious art supplies. the idea that everything fits in a tote bag, & i can still let my creativity out to play, sounds fantastic! thank you, rachel!

  49. When I think of Soul Comfort, I realize that it has only been in terms of something that someone else needed and that it was my job to provide it to them. As an Oncology Nurse I have always seen the need to provide to my patients and families comfort in the most devastating times of their diagnosis, treatment and other heartbreaking times they struggle with.
I have recently lost my job of 20 years and I feel so lost...so broken and unsure of what to do now. I have realized with the help of very special friends in my life and Brave Girl Sisters I have met that what I really need is Soul Comfort of my own. I have given enough for, fed enough souls for now without having my soul fed.
It is the time right now for me to feed my soul before I can journey on to what it is meant for me next. Thank you Rachel for providing this opportunity to those that need it most....good luck Braves and hope to meet you in Soul Comfort. Denise

  50. What do you think of when you hear the words "Soul Comfort"?

I think of taking a drink at an endless well when I am parched from marching for ten years across a dry desert. I have lost my way, and closed off part of my heart to survive, but I'm ready to THRIVE! I know my answers can only be found in the supportive space of a circle of women.

  51. I think its hard for me & other women even to think of soul comfort for ourselves or to nurture ourselves as weve been brought up to provide for family & everyone else first. Always being there for others, always putting others first even to my detriment. To make sure everyone else is looked after first. I dont know how to nurture or look after me. To provide my own soul comfort is a mystery i dont know how to do. I do art for myself but even then I have feelings of why am i doing this as i feel guilty doing it. Lately I was walking down the road & all of a sudden I had this feeling of "What is life all about?" It felt like we were all a bunch of little ants all running around doing things we needed to do .... but what for? I suffer a lot of pain & a real bad lack of energy so life can be a struggle at best then every time someone needs something Im there. It really leaves not much left for me. I dont get out over the holidays as the kids are always working or hard to get together so the holidays just feel like another day to me. Id love to do this class to really learn to start nurturing & looking after me too (without feeling guilty about it)Soul Comfort to me is looking for, finding what really makes you happy, gives you a real inner peace where you can learn to nurture yourself and being able to do that when ever needed. Thank you Rachel for this giveaway (& Brave Girls) I definetly need to do this course one way or another. Thanks for giving away a free seat in this special class
